The opening set at Soup and Sound will display Noah's recent collaboration with singer-songwriter Rani Arbo, a partnership that has given voice to some of his most recent songs with words, many of them musings on the topic of mortality. Following this will be a set by Trio 149 as they prepare to enter the studio a few days later to cut their first album. A two-keyboard collaboration with pianist Jen Allen, the group focuses on uplifting and thought-provoking material, pulling together a variety of musical influences, from John Coltrane, Larry Young, and Thelonious Monk to Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Nina Simone.
