Trio 149 is the brainchild of jazz pianists Jen Allen and Noah Baerman. The unique combination of Baerman’s organ and synthesizer juxtaposed against Allen’s piano, results in an interactive synergy with a richly-textured timber that is at once striking and perfectly blended. With a repertoire dominated by original compositions by both Allen and Baerman, the group finds the sweet spot between modern jazz, classic soul music and other contemporary sounds, an amalgam of John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Sting and many other influences.
